We here at Packages From Home would like to thank the many volunteers, Eagle Scouts, Girl Scout troops, donors and all the many organizations who have given their time and money to help with our cause.

This year has been especially challenging since we depend so heavily on financial donations and in these tough economic times it is important to remember who we are doing this for. We're not doing this for us to "feel" good, nor are we doing this to make you "feel" good, we ARE however doing this to help our brave men and women overseas in harms way to feel cared for.

I was a United States Marine for nine years and was sent overseas many times and even spent some time in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Shield. I can remember how it felt to get a package from home, to get some things that I couldn't get while deployed and to just know somebody was thinking about me.

I can also remember days, just sitting there feeling lonely hoping to hear from home or get a package and then "mail call" would come. "Mail call" came every day, and most days most guys wouldn't get anything, myself included and you could see the disappointment in our eyes when our names weren't called by the platoon Sergeant. And, you could see the joy in the eyes of those who did get something in "mail call".

Now over 17 years later I'm fortunate enough to be in a position that allows me the opportunity to change those feeling for the guys and gals who have so honorably answered the call to duty.

We here at Packages From Home are asking you to remember who we're doing this for and know that we really are making a difference in the lives of so many. Thank you.

***Letter from Afghanistan***

Hello,

I Was hoping you could forward this thank you note to Dr. KR and
her staff/parents/children. Through
"Packages From Home.org", This Elementary School sent one of my troops
a care package that he shared with the group... a package I signed him
up for being he complained he never gets any packages!  We are still
enjoying the Reeses's peanut butter cups.

We're a group of about 40 Sailors, Airmen, Soldiers and Marines that
provide transportation, protection and lodging to high ranking officials
and military personnel when they visit
the Kabul area in Afghanistan.  We take them to meetings with local
leaders and the various generals in the
region.  Working in a "joint" environment (multiple services at the same
command) is a very unique experience.

I've attached a recent photo of our group.  The flags are from the NATO
nations that are in country assisting with our efforts.  We work side by
side with Canadians, Mongolians, French, Brit's...

Thanks again!

V/R,

LCDR Dean

I would like to thank you and everyone that has contributed

I would like to thank you and everyone that has contributed items to the
care package that I received. I appreciate that there are people out
there that care enough to volunteer their time and money to send out
care packages. It feels like a prison sentence out here and just to get
anything in the mail makes you feel special and loved.

To Packages From Home.org

To Packages From Home.org, Girl Scout Troop 1549, Elliot M. a Fifth Grader in Scottsdale, AZ and to whom it may concern at Luskcraft Creations;

You have made not only made One Soldier happy today but 25 highly trained Soldiers in Echo Troop 1/17 Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division Aviation Brigade. The package that we received was more than we ever bargained for, and it arrived on Halloween night. That was appropriate because there were tons of goodies for my Soldiers and I who were not able to celebrate Halloween with our loved ones. I only wish that there were some way that my soldiers and I could personally visit and thank each and everyone of you fine PATRIOT'S. It is because of folks like you that make us want to join the military in the first place and continue to serve our countrymen and women. We are lucky to have organizations like this one so that everyone knows the good that you all are doing for people as well as us Soldiers.

God Bless You All
Matthew D and all of E. Trp. 1/17 CAV
