We here at Packages From Home would like to thank the many volunteers, Eagle Scouts, Girl Scout troops, donors and all the many organizations who have given their time and money to help with our cause.

This year has been especially challenging since we depend so heavily on financial donations and in these tough economic times it is important to remember who we are doing this for. We're not doing this for us to "feel" good, nor are we doing this to make you "feel" good, we ARE however doing this to help our brave men and women overseas in harms way to feel cared for.

I was a United States Marine for nine years and was sent overseas many times and even spent some time in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Shield. I can remember how it felt to get a package from home, to get some things that I couldn't get while deployed and to just know somebody was thinking about me.

I can also remember days, just sitting there feeling lonely hoping to hear from home or get a package and then "mail call" would come. "Mail call" came every day, and most days most guys wouldn't get anything, myself included and you could see the disappointment in our eyes when our names weren't called by the platoon Sergeant. And, you could see the joy in the eyes of those who did get something in "mail call".

Now over 17 years later I'm fortunate enough to be in a position that allows me the opportunity to change those feeling for the guys and gals who have so honorably answered the call to duty.

We here at Packages From Home are asking you to remember who we're doing this for and know that we really are making a difference in the lives of so many. Thank you.

Dear Kathleen and Everyone at Packages From Home,

Dear Kathleen and Everyone at Packages From Home,

I received your package 2 days ago and I am in an office of about 10 people from the US and UK and we are all from different services including Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force, and a few contractors. It was a few days ago that some heightened levels of tension kicked up here in Afghanistan and as a result we got locked down (meaning we had very limited movement around the post). Your package came at the perfect time because we are all still clean shaven and working hard! I rationed out the package to Everyone and their combined response is: THANK YOU PACKAGES FROM HOME!!!
All the best from Afghanistan.

I have just received a package full of things I greatly appreciate, and I would like to say thank you for what you are doing. In this particular package I received a drawing from a little girl, and I keep it with me wherever I go. Again I am very grateful for the things you have sent me, it means a lot.

Good Morning,

This is 1LT Michael B. and we have received some packages! I wanted to write you all to express my sincerest gratitude.

This has been great for the soldiers. I've witnessed improvements in mood as we open the boxes. The items where so well thought out. We have soldiers watching some movies and playing games. The snacks are always a sure bet.

Thank you all for what you do.

Very Respectfully,
1LT M.B.

Hello to all involved in sending my packages. I truly appreciate the thought, effort, and heart that went into sending so many great items. My co-workers are enjoying the goodies as well, so thank you all so much! This is a great program and I hope the support from the community continues so you all can continue to send these wonderful packages to us.
Sending my best,
Jessica G.

My name is SFC Shaun B. and I am currently deployed to Afghanistan, I received a box from Packages from Home yesterday and loved all the items in the box. I really appreciate everything your organization does and you really have no clue how much your organization means to Soldiers. I can tell you that this is my first deployment overseas in my 23 years of duty and being away from family and friends is a challenge. Getting a box from strangers saying that they are thinking about us and even a note from the individual who packed my box is a Blessing. Thanks to everyone who helps and organizes everything. I'm in the Army Reserves and have been over here for about 3 months and get to come home about mid-February of next year.
Thank you again for your package and the love and care that you put into each one. It is truly a great thing that you are doing.
