On behalf of the men and women of the 376th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, I want to thank you so much for your support. We take pride in serving our country and you make it both an honor and a privilege.
I’m getting ready to head home at the end of the month but my replacement SMSgt Alex Terry would be honored to keep on contact with you. We have airmen from around the country here at the Transit Center at Manas, both Active Duty and Air National Guardsmen. We are so pleased at the support we get from back home. It makes being away from our loved ones just a little easier. Right now it’s winter in the former Soviet Republic of Kyrgyzstan. This morning was -5F, pretty chilly especially for our southern airmen.
In an effort to support the local people of Kyrgyzstan, our Squadron has adopted an elementary school a few miles from here. The school consists of 2 to 6 year olds. The school was pretty run down when we arrived here. Since adopting the school, we have completely rebuilt their bathroom and provided heat to the building. Before, the children had to travel outside to use a port-a-potty and the building had no heat.
Our Airmen are proud of what we are doing here in *************. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
